Misery as 'fire alert' sees London Underground SHUT DOWN

Rail passengers are facing major disruption

A FIRE ALERT at Aldgate East station is currently causing mayhem across the Tube network.

The Circle, District, and Hammersmith and City lines have all been shut down as a result.

Tickets are reportedly being accepted on London Buses, c2c, Greater Anglia, London Overground, Southwestern Railway, DLR, and Greater Anglia services via reasonable routes.

London Fire Brigade, who fight fires in London, posted an update on Twitter.

It read: “We were alerted to a possible fire via email, and we asked some fire engines to attend.”

One commuter, whose train was cancelled mid-journey, described the scene as “chaotic”, adding that people were being “forced to talk to each other like it was the 90s.”

More as we get it.
